A multicenter prospective study in which the treatment of single daily doses of moxifloxacin were compared with Oflaksasin + metronidazole therapy included 1103 patients. A single dose of moxifloxacin 400mg was given to group of patient took for 14 days, to the other group of patient oflaksasin 400mg and metronidazole 500 mg was given twice a day. As a result it was found out that the moksifloksasin monotherapy was as effective as oflaksasin + metronidazole therapy, drug-related side effects and patient noncompliance are less and the cost of treatment is lower.
